Outsourcing – 4 reasons why you should!

Outsourcing is becoming an increasingly common practice in the world of internet marketing.  Basically, as an outsourcer, you are contracting out part of your business to an external provider who will complete the required tasks for an agreed fee.

So why should you outsource?  There are many positive reasons why, and here I want to consider just 4:

1.  You play to your strengths.  There are some aspects of internet marketing that you may be particularly good at.  For example, you may be able to produce outstanding videos that attract people to your site.  On the other hand, you may suck at copywriting.  If this is the case, then why not get somebody else to produce your sales letters, so you can concentrate on what you do best?

2.  You save time.  In my day job, I do a lot of number crunching.  Considering my qualifications and experience, this is a complete and utter waste of my time.  My employers are now beginning to accept this fact, and more of my more mundane tasks are now being ‘outsourced’ to our administration department.  My time at home working on my internet marketing is very limited, so it makes huge sense to outsource whenever I can.

3.  The outsourcer can probably do the job better than you!   I love doing most tasks on my internet marketing site, but I have to admit that some things are best left to the professionals.  I kid myself that I can make good banner headings, but when I compare my efforts with those of my graphic designer, I have to hold my head in shame.  My mentor, Neil Stafford of the Internet Marketing Review, has a great way of letting me down gently – “The content is good, but it needs to look more professional”!     :-D

4.  Your ‘outsourcer’ is usually more cost effective than you!  When you sit down and work it out, you are probably a very expensive commodity.  If you shop around then you can probably find somebody who will do a required task to a higher standard, in a shorter time, and at a more reasonable cost.  – so why are you struggling to do everything yourself?  Outsource, and reap the benefits!

Keep dreaming those big dreams,

Graham

p.s.  Not sure where to start with outsourcing?  Here’s a list to get you going:

http://fiverr.com/    As the name suggests, tasks and services are offered on line for $5!

http://www.freelancer.com/    Probably the biggest outsourcing marketplace in the world.

https://odesk.com/   Targeted at businesses that hire and manage remote workers.

http://www.elance.com/   Highly recommended, and often the first outsourcing website quoted by the experts.

I strongly agree that outsourcing will be more beneficial most especially if you lack the resources and expertise in a specific field. For instance, online marketing outsourcing is not a piece of cake job; it needs robust attention in order to get the results you want in a faster, efficient, and effective way. Having some experts in the field focus on it will let your business grow bigger while you save time on learning new things that can be done by others.

    Hi Graham.
Just wanted to say thanks for the training videos. They got me up and running a while ago. However, I was looking through the camstudio 101 lessons, as that is an arena I want to develop into, and there seems to be a problem with the last 2. Not sure if you’re aware of it, just thought I would pass that on. Thanks again for the WP vid’s

      Hi Paul,

Many thanks for your kind comments – glad my videos are of use! I’ve been through the last two Camstudio 101 videos (3 and 4) and can’t find the problem – could you give me any more details?

      Best wishes,

      Graham

      • Hi Graham,
sorry for the delay. Visually, the videos in question are working fine, I’m just not getting any audio. I was getting video and audio on 1 & 2. Hope this helps.
        Paul
