Outsourcing is becoming an increasingly common practice in the world of internet marketing. Basically, as an outsourcer, you are contracting out part of your business to an external provider who will complete the required tasks for an agreed fee.
So why should you outsource? There are many positive reasons why, and here I want to consider just 4:
1. You play to your strengths. There are some aspects of internet marketing that you may be particularly good at. For example, you may be able to produce outstanding videos that attract people to your site. On the other hand, you may suck at copywriting. If this is the case, then why not get somebody else to produce your sales letters, so you can concentrate on what you do best?
2. You save time. In my day job, I do a lot of number crunching. Considering my qualifications and experience, this is a complete and utter waste of my time. My employers are now beginning to accept this fact, and more of my more mundane tasks are now being ‘outsourced’ to our administration department. My time at home working on my internet marketing is very limited, so it makes huge sense to outsource whenever I can.
3. The outsourcer can probably do the job better than you! I love doing most tasks on my internet marketing site, but I have to admit that some things are best left to the professionals. I kid myself that I can make good banner headings, but when I compare my efforts with those of my graphic designer, I have to hold my head in shame. My mentor, Neil Stafford of the Internet Marketing Review, has a great way of letting me down gently – “The content is good, but it needs to look more professional”!
4. Your ‘outsourcer’ is usually more cost effective than you! When you sit down and work it out, you are probably a very expensive commodity. If you shop around then you can probably find somebody who will do a required task to a higher standard, in a shorter time, and at a more reasonable cost. – so why are you struggling to do everything yourself? Outsource, and reap the benefits!
Keep dreaming those big dreams,
