If you have watched my first video in this WordPress series then you will now have a better understanding of what blogs are and reasons for writing them. You will also hopefully have considered and purchased a possible domain name, and also have signed-up with Hostgator.
In this second video we’re really going to get things moving. The first thing we need to do is to use nameservers to point our domain name at our hosting site. For this you will need the nameservers provided by Hostgator, so make sure you’ve got these at your fingertips.
Once we’ve achieved this I’ll be showing you how to set up email accounts for your blog, and how you can use a forwarder to make sure that all incoming emails are sent to your preferred email account.
We will then be using Fantastico in Hostgator to actually create our WordPress blog. This is a very straight-forward process, and in no time at all you will be the proud developer of your first blog.
Having created your blog there are then a number of small tweaks you need to make in order for your blog to work most effectively. Everything is explained really carefully in the videos so you should have no problems at all with the basic set-up.
So click on the video link below, grab yourself another cup of coffee and get building your blog!
As always I appreciate any comments, and if you need any help with anything just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
I hope you enjoy the video!
p.s. if you’re really keen to use your blog to start becoming an affiliate marketer and selling stuff on line then I do recommend that you have a look at Beginner To Profit, a really comprehensive product that will get you on the path to internet marketing success. It’s produced by my friend and mentor Neil Stafford, so I really can vouch for the quality of the product!
